chicken patties recipe (pakistani style)

Chicken patties!

(Like the Pakistani/Indian bakery ones)

Ingredients:

- Milk 300 ml

- One full chicken (I shredded Coles roast chicken). You can buy fresh and boil with salt and pepper if you wish)

- Ginger paste 1 tsp

- Garlic paste 1 tsp

- Green chilli paste 1 tsp

- Habanero or hot sauce to taste

- Black & White pepper 1/2 tsp

- Egg 1 for egg wash

- All purpose flour 3 tbsp

- Butter 2 tbsp

- Chopped onions - one small

- Puff pastry sheets - depends on the size you want

Directions:

Shred chicken. Fry onion & chilli paste in butter for 3 minutes. Add ginger garlic. Add all purpose flour & cook for 2-3 minutes then add the shredded chicken and stir well. Add milk in portions until the mixture is of a thick consistency. Add hot sauce to taste.

Using a cookie cutter cut circles of the puff pastry sheet and place them on the cookie sheet. Make an egg wash and apply on the inner side of the pastry base circles, put the filling in the middle and cover the base with another circle. Apply egg wash on the top of the pastry. Using a smaller cookie cutter make an indentation on the top of the pastry.

Preheat oven to 200c degrees and fan bake for 30-35 minutes till the pastry becomes golden.

  • Place the cheesecake in the oven. Bake it for 40 minutesthe filling won't look entirely set in the center.
  • Remove the cheesecake from the oven, and set it on a rack to cool. Once the cake is cool, refrigerate it, covered, until you're ready to serve it.
