Quick and Easy French toast Recipe

 Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of bread (thick slices work best)
  • 1 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter or cooking spray for greasing the pan.
  • Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruits, whipped cream.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Egg Mixture:

    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Soak the Bread:

    • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly. Allow the bread to soak for about 20-30 seconds on each side, but be careful not to oversaturate, as it can make the toast soggy.
  3. Cooking:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter or coat with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
    • Place the soaked bread slices onto the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Serve:

    • Once both sides are cooked to your liking, transfer the French toast to a plate.
  5. Add Toppings:

    • Serve the French toast hot with your favorite toppings. Maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruits, and whipped cream are popular choices.
  6. Optional: Keep Warm in Oven:

    • If you're making a larger batch, you can keep the cooked French toast warm by placing it in a preheated oven (200°F or 93°C) while you finish cooking the rest.
  7. Enjoy:

    • Enjoy your homemade French toast!

Feel free to customize this recipe to suit your taste preferences. You can experiment with different types of bread, add a dash of nutmeg, or even use flavored extracts in the egg mixture for a unique twist.
